Out & About
There are too many things to do and places to see to mention them all, so we have tried to give you a good cross section and variation. There are many beautiful walks and strolls near by, with the Grantham Canal located at the edge of Oddhouse Farm's garden and the area is extremely popular with cyclists both on the canal and the lanes round and about. Enjoy the local wildlife, with an abundance of great bird life, such as Buzzards, Woodpeckers and Willow Warblers amongst many others. You may also be lucky enough to spot one of the shy local Muntjack or Roe Deer if you're down wind and quiet enough!

If you're looking for Hen Party entertainment or for the big kids in us girlies, who just want to have a wild and wonderful, exciting thrill then look know further, there is plenty of choice not far away:
Melton Mowbray also has Twin Lakes Family Theme Park for an action packed time.
Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of the National Water Sports Centre is 10 minutes drive away with it's brand new Family Fun Park offering everything you need for a great day out! From a Sky Trail High Ropes Course, to Segways and Mini Golf; adventure activities such as ECombat, White Water Rafting and Wakeboarding - there is something for everyone!
If you are looking for a bit of a thrill combined with a SPLASH! There is also the seasonal Aqua Park Rutland great for Hen Parties and Family Time!
Go Ape Sherwood is also not too far away for a day trip and seems to very popular with our Girlie Get Togethers / Hen and Chick Gatherings.
Rutland Water Nature Reserve is well worth a trip out and great for picnics, cycling, walking or water cruise. See if you can spot the resident Osprey, or you may simply prefer to hire a tandem and let your partner do all the work!

On Our Doorstep
You may just want to stay round and about on site in which case you might fancy arranging a pampering session, or two or three... at The Little Retreat Day Spa. Please book in advance, to avoid disappointment. If however, they are booked up, don't despair! We are extremely well located for Eden Hall Day Spa and Ragdale Hall Health Hydro and Thermal Spa which are both only a 10 minute driveaway.
If you are looking for trips out but still on our door step, Belvoir Castle is only a short drive or slightly longer cycle ride away, where you can take a tour around the stunning Castle and Gardens or plan your glamping trip in with one of their events.
The village of Colston Bassett is in walking distance, with its gorgeous and well renowned Martin's Arms restaurant / watering hole, not to mention the Colston Bassett Dairy if you are partial to a sliver of the world famous Stilton cheese.
Just on from Colston Bassett there is the also the lovely village of Langar where the beautiful Langar Hall Hotel and Restaurant. A stunning location and fabulous food!
One of the neighbouring villages of Hickling is also a few stops along the canal and so can be reached easily on foot or bike.

There are the lovely quintessential market towns of Oakham and Stamford ideal for the ladies looking for a spot of shopping!
There is also Melton Mowbray nearby, renowned for its fine food and drink offer; the Borough has become the centre of excellence for local food producers. Famous for its Dickinson's Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese and home to the Melton Mowbray Food Festival, Great British Pie Awards and the largest Artisan Cheese Fair in the country. It is no wonder that Melton Mowbray is known as the 'Rural Capital of Food'.
